Abstract Description: Since the 2020 PFAS Strategic Roadmap, stakeholders have followed EPA’s actions and prepared for federal rulemaking related to PFAS. In 2025, we are experiencing the results of that effort, with the publication of proposed and final rulemaking regulating the releases of PFAS into the environment. This presentation provides the current state of key proposed and finalized regulations, as well as known and expected future developments in a variety of regulatory frameworks. This presentation will discuss current and upcoming changes under the new administration and how proposed changes may impact industrial facilities, permit holders and other regulated entities. Regulatory updates under these frameworks can interact with one another and can result the in need for additional and potentially more complex management strategies. Understanding what regulations have shifted and what is new will help managers to plan for and implement controls to address process and environmental risks. Topics covered include regulations which address: Products to Market – Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), Environmental Releases – Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA), Air Emissions – Clean Air Act (CAA), Solid Waste Management – Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), Multimedia Release Reporting – Toxic Release Inventory (TRI), Drinking Water – Clean Water Act (CWA), Water Discharges – National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES).
