Dr. “Ram” Raghavan Ramanan a Cofounder and Chief Scientific Officer at ImpactEdge Inc., is a Fulbright Leadership Scholar, and a globally recognized expert in Sustainability, ESG and CSR in corporate (ExxonMobil), consulting (AECOM, ICF and Trinity), and academic environments (Illinois Institute of Technology, Desert Research Institute and Indian Institute of Technology). He is a Board Member and Chairs the Education Council of Air & Waste Management Association International. He also serves as a Board Member and Chairs the Sustainability Council at the WHEELS Global Foundation, the social impact arm of PANIIT.
Dr. Ramanan has led and participated in many industry organizations and professional associations to promote environmental and sustainability disciplines. He has served as a member of the World Economic Forum and Echoing Green Climate Change Brain Trust, and a member of the GRI Academic Committee. has authored multiple books, presented and published scientific, technical, and management papers as well as thought leadership briefings worldwide. He has provided executive briefings to environmental ministry experts from former Soviet Union nations, industry and government leaders of the Nigerian oil and gas sector, Reserve Bank of India research wing, the Conference Board USA, Northern Trust, and so on.
His book, “Introduction to Sustainability Analytics”, CRC Press 2018, one of the first on the subject, provides leaders insight into the value of stakeholder primacy and the process of identifying sustainability metrics that are material and relevant to their establishment. His prior book (co-authored), “Environmental Ethics and Sustainability”, CRC Press 2013 promotes ethics as the 4th bottom line of sustainability.
Dr. Ramanan has a PhD, Env. Sc. (Engineering), UT Dallas; MBA,(Executive), McCombs, The UT Austin; MS in Chemical Engineering, Bombay University, B. Tech. (Honors) in Chemical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, India. He is a Professional Engineer in Texas, UK, and India.
