Asmita Narode, PhD

Research Environmental Engineer
RTI International, NC

Dr. Asmita Narode is a civil and environmental engineer specializing in solid waste management. At RTI International, her work focuses on designing and improving solid waste management systems, life cycle assessments, GHG emissions estimation & writing research reports and manuscripts, for local, state, and federal government organizations. She works with various types of solid wastes including municipal waste, food waste, medical waste, industrial waste & C&D waste. Dr. Narode earned her Ph.D. from NC State University, where she developed methods to measure heat generated from ash to prevent high temperatures in landfills. She rceived her master's in environmental engineering from Georgia Tech. She is currently serving as the Chair of the Research Triangle Park (RTP) Chapter of the Air and Waste Management Association (A&WMA). In her free time, Asmita enjoys road biking.
