Hwabhin Kwon is a Senior Researcher at the Gwangyang Environmental Research Group under the Research Institute of Industrial Science and Technology (RIST). With a Ph.D. in Thermal-Fluid Engineering from Changwon National University, Hwabhin specializes in computational fluid dynamics (CFD), advanced cooling systems, and dust mitigation technologies for industrial applications.
His research interests include optimizing dust collection systems using AI-driven design methodologies, analyzing cooling mechanisms for gas turbines, and developing advanced filtration systems for steel mills. At RIST, he leads projects focused on reducing particulate and gaseous pollutants in steel manufacturing and enhancing the efficiency of electrostatic and filtration dust collectors.
Hwabhin has authored several SCIE-indexed journal articles, contributing to advancements in thermal management, fluid dynamics, and environmental engineering. His work has also led to the development of patented technologies, including a cooling system for BLDC motors and power cell structures for flow-electrode concentration difference applications.
Prior to joining RIST, he worked as a Senior Researcher at Changwon National University's Mechatronics Research Institute, where he applied AI-optimized design techniques to cooling systems for radar and electric vehicle motors.
Hwabhin continues to focus on developing sustainable solutions for industrial processes, leveraging his expertise in CFD, multiphysics analysis, and AI optimization.
