David J. Long is an Environmental Engineer Staff in the Air Quality Services Section of Environmental Services for the American Electric Power Service Corporation in Columbus, Ohio. He has over 43 years of utility experience, the last 37 years in his present position where he handles Air Quality Compliance and Permitting matters for various company facilities as well as serving as the Air Quality Modeling and Analysis lead for AEPSC. Mr. Long received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the West Virginia Institute of Technology (now a Division of West Virginia University) in 1981 and a Master of Science in Environmental Studies from the West Virginia College of Graduate Studies (now part of the Marshall University Graduate College) in 1986. Mr. Long represents American Electric Power on several Industry Environmental Committees, including the Midwest Ozone Group where he currently serves as Co-Chair of the Technical Committee. He is past Chair of the Air and Waste Management Association’s Technical Council. Mr. Long is a registered Professional Engineer in the States of West Virginia, Kentucky, Ohio, and Indiana.
