Amirjavad Ahmadian Hosseini is a Ph.D. Candidate in Environmental Engineering at FAU's Department of Civil, Environmental, and Geomatics Engineering. Amirjavad is working on CO2 Capture Techniques as a powerful tool to decrease atmospheric CO2 levels and combat global warming. Amirjavad earned a BSc and MSc in Mechanical Engineering from the Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, focusing on Thermo Fluid and Energy Conversion. During this time, Amirjavad conducted research on Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modeling and Combustion modeling to modify the air-swirler of a well-known combustion chamber to reduce its pollutants, including soot, NOx, and carbon monoxide. Amirjavad has co-authored five high-ranked journal articles in addition to international conference proceedings papers. His interests are Air Pollution Control Techniques, Water Supply and Treatment, and Computational Modeling.
