Irene Lara-Ibeas is a Product Manager at Kunak Technologies. Before joining Kunak in 2024, Irene was a postdoc at University of Michigan and Eurac Research. She holds a MSc in Environmental Analytical Chemistry and a PhD in Physical Chemistry, both from the University of Strasbourg (France). With +8 years of experience in several aspects related to air quality and air pollutants monitoring systems, she has been actively involved in multiple projects focused on the measurement and characterization of air pollutants, design of portable chemical analysis systems, development of testing protocols, as well as systems performance evaluation. She has experience in air quality campaigns, instrument design, and sensor testing and evaluation. Currently, Irene leads research projects aimed at improving the performance and usability of air quality sensors, as well as exploring new applications for sensor technology. She recently joined the standardization groups CEN/TC264 WG42 “Ambient air – Air quality sensors " and WG41 "Emissions and ambient air – Instrumental odour monitoring".
