Chris E. Stapp, AAS, BS, MBA, QEP is an Engineering Consultant with Saudi Aramco.
A seasoned environmental and sustainability expert, Chris E. Stapp brings more than 30 years of progressive experience in the energy and petrochemical industries, specializing in decarbonization, greenhouse gas (GHG) management, and regulatory compliance. Currently serving as a Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Engineering Consultant at Saudi Aramco, Chris leads the development and execution of the company’s Corporate Decarbonization Strategy, driving initiatives to achieve net-zero Scope 1 & 2 GHG emissions by 2050.
With expertise in low-carbon technology, GHG accounting, climate change strategy, and environmental management systems, Chris has played a pivotal role in integrating decarbonization into corporate functions, advising executive leadership on sustainability trends, and representing the company in engagements with global stakeholders.
Prior to joining Saudi Aramco, Chris held senior environmental engineering roles at Lyondell Chemical Company, Celanese Chemicals, TXI-Chaparral Steel, ARCO Permian, and other industry leaders, where he developed and implemented air quality compliance programs, environmental management systems, and regulatory strategies.
He holds an MBA in Management and Finance, a B.S. in Environmental Engineering, and an A.A.S. in Hazardous Materials Technology. Additionally, he is a Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP) and a certified Lead Environmental Auditor.
Chris is recognized for his ability to lead organizations through complex environmental transitions, drive continuous improvement, and implement innovative, practical solutions to sustainability challenges.
