Dr Ajay Taneja is presently working as a Professor in the Department of Chemistry, at Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar University Agra. India. He also holds the post of Pro Vice-Chancellor. He has more than 33 years of teaching and research experience and has served the University in many administrative positions like Head of the department, Dean of Science, Director of IQAC, and Director of the College Development Council (CDC). His research interests are environmental chemistry and air pollution. He has guided more than 19 Ph.D. and 29 M. Phil students and has carried out many projects sponsored by DST, UGC, CSIR, and the State government. He has co-authored more than 170 research articles, 5 books, 12 book chapters, and 5 research reports. He is a life member/Fellow of many professional bodies and has held the post of Joint Secretary, Indian Council of Chemists India since 2006. He is also a reviewer of many International Journals. He has been a Resource person for IAQ workshops for The Associated Chambers of Commerce & Industry of India, New Delhi, and for Environmental Sciences in Academic Staff Colleges of different Universities &Science and Technology (DST) Schools on Earth and Environment Sciences.
He is also a consultant to the task force set up by the Central Pollution Control Board to set up standards and SOPs for Indoor air pollution in India and has traveled to 14 countries for academic purposes and has participated in many national and international conferences and workshops.
His expertise is in the field of monitoring different types of pollutants in indoor and ambient environments as well as chemically characterizing indoor and outdoor aerosols
