Brian Petermann, PE is a Principal Engineer at POWER Engineers, Inc. with over 40 years of experience performing air quality regulatory, compliance, permitting, and strategic advisory work. Most of this has been from the engineering consulting role focusing on the energy production industry throughout the US. He serves on the company's Hydrogen Focus Group and Decarbonization Strategy Team to study these rapidly expanding energy areas, encourage company knowledge and capabilities, and participate in associated conferences to enhance industry efforts to develop and implement decarbonization strategies. He is providing decarbonization strategic planning advice integrating the use of renewables, hydrogen, RNG, and carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) projects.
Brian started his air quality career providing air quality impact and planning services including dispersion modeling and regulatory development at Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and at Wisconsin Electric, subsequently performing emission control technology engineering and permitting services as a consultant to the electric power industry. He’s performed air quality permitting projects, assisted clients with ongoing compliance activities of emissions monitoring, testing, and reporting, and provides associated senior level advice to customers. He has managed, supervised, and mentored staff of air quality permitting meteorologists, scientists, and engineers to perform permitting, compliance, and advisory services in the electric power, natural gas, campus energy, and a range of energy intensive industrial plants.
Brian is a registered Professional Engineer, earned his engineering degree from Michigan State University, and a Meteorology degree from the University of Wisconsin - Madison.
