Dr. Morris E. Demitry, PhD, PMP
Dr. Morris Demitry is a distinguished environmental professional with a strong background in compliance engineering and program management. As a seasoned compliance engineer and program manager with the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) - Environmental Compliance and Facilities Support Branch (EZV), where he has been serving since October 2016, Dr. Demitry has established himself as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in water quality, wastewater treatment, Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) remediation, along with strong experience in the civil engineering field as a project manager for mega projects in infrastructure improvements (Sanitary Sewer and Storm Drainage System).

Throughout his tenure, Dr. Demitry has demonstrated exceptional leadership in overseeing Government-Owned, Contractor-Operated (GOCO) plants, successfully developing, implementing, and managing environmental cleanup and remediation projects, with a particular focus on PFAS cleanup, water, groundwater, and soil remediation. He has also managed infrastructure projects, including the design and construction of wastewater pipelines and stormwater systems. His technical expertise and program management acumen have been instrumental in ensuring the successful execution of complex environmental projects.

Prior to joining AFLCMC, Dr. Demitry worked as a graduate researcher at Utah State University, conducting research on solid waste management, renewable energy, and modeling anaerobic digestion processes. He published 5 scientific papers in water quality and wastewater management. This foundational experience has informed his approach to environmental management and remediation, enabling him to develop innovative solutions to complex environmental challenges. The knowledge and skills gained during his research experience have been invaluable in his current role, allowing him to tackle pressing environmental issues with a unique perspective.

Dr. Demitry is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), having earned his certification in 2019, and is an active member of the Air and Waste Management Association (A&WMA)
