Dr. R. Ryan Dupont is a Cazier Endowed Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Utah State University. He received his PhD from the University of Kansas in Environmental Health Engineering in 1982, the year he started as a faculty member at Utah State University and Research Associate at the Utah Water Research Laboratory in Logan Utah. He is the 2015 receipient of AWMA's Richard I. Stessel Waste Management Award. Over his 40+ year career he has conducted applied research in: the soil and groundwater remediation area, focusing on biological process monitoring, field system evaluation, and performance monitoring; evaluation of emerging contaminants and human exposure risk via wastewater and biosolids reuse; and green infrastructure and low impact development. He teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in Solid and Hazardous Waste Management, Wastewater Engineering, Pollution Prevention, Human Health and Hazard Risk Management, Remediation Engineering and Environmental Microbiology.
